NCC1701 is a faithful adaptation of the mainframe classic
Star Trek updated for Windows 3.1 with graphic animation,
an extensive context sensitive help file, and remarkable
ease of use lending itself to play with either mouse or
keyboard. This beauty will make you feel like you're in
command on the NCC-1701's Bridge.

NCC1701 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1) Create a directory for NCC1701 and move to the directory.

   example: c:
            md\ncc1701
            cd\ncc1701

2) Copy all NCC1701 files to the NCC1701 directory.

   example: copy a:NCC1701.* c:

            optional copying

            copy a:README.TXT c:
            copy a:RELEASE.TXT c:
            copy a:ORDER.TXT c:

            
3) (Optional) If you plan to use other software requiring
   the Visual Basic Version 2.0 Run Module (VBRUN200.DLL),
   you may want to copy the VBRUN200.DLL run-time file to
   your Windows directory and erase the VBRUN200.DLL in
   the NCC1701 Directory.

   example: copy VBRUN200.DLL c:\windows
            erase VBRUN200.DLL

4) Start Windows and, from the Program Manager:

            pull down the File Menu, and choose New
            
            when the NEW PROGRAM OBJECT dialog box appears,
            choose PROGRAM ITEM and click on OK
            
            when the PROGRAM ITEM PROPERTIES dialog box appears,
            type "NCC-1701" into Description,
                 "c:\ncc1701\ncc1701.exe" into Command Line,
                 "c:\ncc1701" into Working Directory, and
            click on OK to install. The NCCC1701 Icon should appear
                 in the active program group.

                                         
NOTES:  NCC1701 requires Windows 3.1 or later
        in standard or enhanced mode.

        NCC1701 version 1.1 requires VBRUN200.DLL in the
        NCC1701 directory (or elsewhere on your path).
        VBRUN100.DLL (the earlier version of the Visual
        Basic Run Module) is NOT compatible with this
        version of NCC1701.

WINDOWS 3.0 Users .....

This version 1.10 of NCC-1701 requires

    Windows Version 3.1

because it uses the TrueType Dingbats font shipped with
version 3.1. If you install and use it with version 3.0 of
Windows, the Short Run Scan will show different symbols
for the ship, starbases, klingons and stars. Other than
this symbology, NCC-1701 should be compatible with version
3.0 of Windows.
